The Citroën DS is a truly amazing car. Introduced in 1955,
it was far ahead of its time. It features a hydraulic suspension
that allows the driver to adjust the underbody clearance.
Designed to cope with the bad 1955 roads, the suspension is extremely soft and comfortable. Normally, this would make the height of the car (or its road clearance) very dependent on its load. But this car self-adjusts its height, so that it is independent of the load.
This model has a hydraulically operated transmission with a dry clutch. Unfortunately, it does not have the European headlights that turn into the direction the driver steers the car.
